Hey Jon,
Thanks to the encouragement of many wonderful writers of #FridayFlash stories, not to mention the inspiration those stories exude, I've decided to make a go of it myself. No, I don't write fiction, or at least I didn't until one stubborn internet-writer buddy argued that I was just being a big chicken, and that I needed to get my butt in gear and get started. Dang, but she knows me so well she knew I couldn't back down from a challenge.
So, I'm commenting here as a sort of "push" to myself, knowing that if I announce it I Must go through with it. I may not get a story in each week, but I will certainly try. I will be launching a new blog site, separate from my nonfiction site, specifically for these stories.
Thank you all for the encouragement, and especially the inspiration. And thank you Jon for spending so much time compiling the list for us all!

Oh, good. I'm glad you're going to join in on the madness, er, I mean fun. biggrin

Don't feel pressure. There is no need to produce a story a week (though many do). Post them when you have them.

Thanks for compiling this each week, Jon. And I'd be well up for helping with an anthology. An ebook posted on Smashwords or Feedbooks could be a cool way to get things going. I also like the idea of a podcast, a monthly one might be possible if folk could record and edit their stuff. Putting it all together shouldn't be too hard. Again happy to help with that, just as soon as I get my head round how to host audio. I have been inspired by the Bathroom Monologues and fancy posting and audio version of my flash each week too.

An anthology is a logical outgrowing of a project like this, and I offer my support to it wholeheartedly.

I've also been considering a #flashfriday podcast. I'd like to hear more of these in audio. A weekly podcast of new writer's flash fiction would be something I'd subscribe to.

A podcast would be interesting, but I don't think I have the voice or recording environment for it. Hearing the 18 wheelers grid up the hill just outside my window might be a distraction. ;)
